Summarize: GOD’S WORD, the Bible, is truth. Even Jesus testified to this fact when He prayed to God saying: “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth (John 17:17).” Though written by human authors, every words of the Bible were inspired by God: “All Scripture is breathed out by God (2 Timothy 3:16) …” Jesus’ word is also the truth. Jesus said: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).” We all need to learn GOD’S WORD to grow our NEW LIFE IN CHRIST. And, of equal important is to obey it. In this story we heard Jesus said: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” When we hear and obey GOD’S WORD, we will gain wisdom, and our faith will be built on a solid foundation. When the storms of life come against us, we will not fall because we have GOD’S WORD as our foundation. Growing in GOD’S WORD also helps us to produce good fruits. This new life that we received from God contains Christ’s identity, His characters and likeness. When we begin to live our new Christ’s identity through learning and obeying GOD’S WORD, we will begin to bear good fruits, good and godly characters. So, come to church to hear GOD’S WORD preached, but also join a Bible study group like this one to grow in our NEW LIFE IN CHRIST and grow in GOD’S WORD.
