Summarize: Living our NEW LIFE IN CHRIST involved GIVING and SERVING just as our Lord Jesus Christ have lived. He is our perfect example. Jesus said this about Himself: “the Son of Man came not to be served but to SERVE, and to GIVE his life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28).” GIVING and SERVING others is something that is strange to many of us because we came from a society that taught us to live selfishly for ourselves. But as we begin to live our NEW LIFE IN CHRIST through GIVING and serving others, we will begin to find that life becomes meaningful and there’s fulfillment that we didn’t have before. All Christ followers experienced this as they live their NEW LIFE IN CHRIST. They are filled with joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. It may have been this joy that you saw in their eyes and faces that drew you to church. We servE be cause Jesus served us. We give of ourselves because Jesus gave Himself for us. Serving God begins in the family. It starts from us serving our loved ones. Then we serve our church family. There are always things we can do to help our fellow believers or help in the operation of our church. Take a few minutes to make a list of things we can do to help or serve your loved ones. And then list out things you can do to serve or help someone in your church. Is there a family in need that you can help? What are areas in the church that you can volunteer to help? This may require you to ask your pastor or church leaders. Go and start living our new life in Christ by giving and serving others and experience life’s joy and fulfillment for yourself.
